Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes is Portugal's vice-captain and one of Europe's most creative midfielders, having established himself as Manchester United's playmaker since 2020 after a standout spell at Sporting CP.

Fernandes began his senior career in Italy with Novara and Udinese before returning to Portugal with Sporting CP in 2017, where he won the Primeira Liga Player of the Year award twice and scored 39 goals in 83 appearances. His £47 million move to Manchester United in January 2020 transformed the club's attack; he has made over 300 appearances and been voted Premier League Player of the Season in 2025–26.

Internationally, Fernandes has earned 89 caps and 29 goals for Portugal, contributing to Nations League victories in 2019 and 2025. He is considered one of the best midfielders in the world for his ability to create chances, score from range, and dictate tempo.
