Chris Richards

Chris Richards is an American central defender who has established himself in the Premier League with Crystal Palace after developing at Bayern Munich. He was named U.S. Soccer Player of the Year in 2025.

Richards joined FC Dallas's academy as a teenager before moving to Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga in 2019–20. Loan spells at TSG Hoffenheim gave him regular game time before Crystal Palace signed him in 2022.

At Crystal Palace he has lifted the FA Cup (2024–25), the FA Community Shield (2025), and the UEFA Conference League (2025–26). Internationally he has earned 36 caps and scored the opening goal of the USA's 2–0 win over Canada in the 2023 CONCACAF Nations League final.
