Fernando Muslera

Fernando Muslera is a Uruguayan goalkeeper who built his reputation across four countries over two decades, most memorably as the long-serving number one at Galatasaray, where he became one of the club's most celebrated foreign players. A Copa América winner with Uruguay in 2011, he racked up more than 130 international caps.

Muslera came through the academy at Montevideo Wanderers and made 44 professional appearances before Lazio signed him in 2007. During four seasons in Rome he won the Coppa Italia and established himself as a dependable Serie A keeper.

In 2011 Galatasaray paid around €12 million for his services, and he repaid that investment many times over — winning eight Süper Lig titles and multiple cups in 14 years and 443 appearances. He departed for Estudiantes de La Plata in 2025 to return to South American football.
