Gio Reyna

Giovanni Reyna is an American attacking midfielder born in England to former international footballers, who rose to prominence as a teenager at Borussia Dortmund. He transferred to Borussia Mönchengladbach in August 2025 after five seasons at Dortmund.

Reyna joined Dortmund's academy in 2019 after developing at New York City FC. He made an immediate first-team impact, becoming the youngest American to score in the Bundesliga and the youngest goalscorer in DFB-Pokal history. He provided three assists in a single match — the youngest player to do so in Bundesliga history.

Injuries hampered his development in later Dortmund seasons, but he regained form on loan at Nottingham Forest in 2024. He moved permanently to Mönchengladbach in August 2025. Internationally, he has won three CONCACAF Nations League titles (2021, 2023, 2024) and accumulated 38 caps and 9 goals for the USMNT.
