Jerome Opoku

Jerome Opoku is a London-born centre-back of Ghanaian heritage who spent years in Fulham's academy before establishing his professional career abroad. He has become a key figure at İstanbul Başakşehir and was included in Ghana's 2026 World Cup squad.

Opoku progressed through Fulham's academy from 2009 but made no league appearances for the first team, instead developing on loan at Accrington Stanley, Plymouth Argyle, and Vejle Boldklub. He then moved to FC Arouca in Portugal before joining İstanbul Başakşehir.

At Başakşehir he has made over 90 appearances across loan and permanent spells, scoring seven goals. He made his Ghana senior debut in 2023 and earned six caps, including a goal against Uganda in a 2024 friendly.
