Nabil Bentaleb

Nabil Bentaleb is an Algerian defensive midfielder who plays for Lille OSC in Ligue 1, the club of his hometown, having previously spent years in England and Germany.

Bentaleb launched his professional career at Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, reaching the EFL Cup final in 2014–15. He moved to Schalke 04 on loan in 2016 before signing permanently, also having a loan stint at Newcastle United, before returning to France with Angers and then Lille in 2023.

He made his Algeria debut in March 2014 and has gone on to earn 58 caps and 6 goals, representing the country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments (2015, 2017, 2023). He was also included in the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
