Roger Ibañez

Roger Ibañez is a Brazilian centre-back who won the UEFA Europa Conference League with Roma in 2022 before a big-money move to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, where he has won back-to-back AFC Champions League titles.

Ibañez progressed through Brazilian football at Fluminense before Atalanta signed him in 2019. Loaned immediately to Roma, he impressed sufficiently for the club to make his deal permanent. Over 149 competitive appearances for Roma he scored 9 goals and featured prominently in their run to the 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League title. Al-Ahli paid approximately €30 million to sign him in 2023.

In Saudi Arabia he has continued to perform at the highest level, winning the AFC Champions League Elite in both 2024-25 and 2025-26 and the Saudi Super Cup in 2025. He made his Brazil senior debut in September 2022 against Tunisia and has earned 7 caps, being included in the 2026 World Cup squad.
