Rúben Dias

Rúben Dias is Portugal's first-choice centre-back and one of the world's best defenders — FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season in 2020–21, and a key figure in Manchester City's era of dominance.

Dias progressed through Benfica's academy and earned Primeira Liga Young Player of the Year recognition before signing for Manchester City for €68 million in September 2020. His impact was immediate: he was instrumental in City reclaiming the Premier League title in his debut season and winning the FWA Footballer of the Year award. He then anchored City's historic 2022–23 continental treble campaign, starting almost every minute as the club won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Internationally, Dias has earned 74 caps and 3 goals for Portugal as of late 2025, featuring in Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup, Euro 2024, and contributing to Nations League victories in 2019 and 2025.
