A história

História do clube

Jordan, nicknamed Al-Nashama (The Chivalrous Ones), are a rising force in Asian football who secured their historic first FIFA World Cup qualification in June 2025, having reached the AFC Asian Cup final two years prior.

Jordan played their first international on 1 August 1953, losing 3–1 to Syria in Alexandria, and spent much of their early existence on the fringes of Asian football. The Jordan Football Association built a modest but steady program through the second half of the twentieth century, with the Arab Games gold medals in 1997 and 1999 among their rare regional honours.

The modern era brought a dramatic rise. Jordan reached the 2023 AFC Asian Cup final — the nation's first — before losing 3–1 to hosts Qatar. They also contested the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup final, going down 3–2 to Morocco, demonstrating consistency at the highest regional level.

The crowning achievement came on 5 June 2025, when Jordan defeated Oman 3–0 away to clinch their maiden FIFA World Cup berth for 2026. Goalkeeper Amer Shafi (171 caps) and striker Hamza Al-Dardour (33 international goals) stand as the programme's most decorated individual contributors.
