The Czech Republic national football team, nicknamed Repre, represents Czechia in international football under UEFA. Formed in 1994 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, they inherit the legacy of the 1976 European Championship title and reached the Euro 1996 final as an independent nation. They qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup — their first appearance since 2006 — via penalty-shootout wins over Ireland and Denmark.

After Czechoslovakia's split, the Czech Republic made an immediate impact on the world stage, finishing runners-up at Euro 1996, losing 2–1 to Germany at Wembley. The 2000s saw a golden generation featuring Pavel Nedvěd, Jan Koller, Tomáš Rosický, Milan Baroš, and Petr Čech emerge; the squad went unbeaten across 19 matches in 2002–03 and reached the Euro 2004 semi-finals before losing to Greece.

The Czech Republic qualified for their first World Cup as an independent nation in 2006, entering the tournament ranked second in the world, but were eliminated in the group stage after defeats to Ghana and Italy. Through the 2010s results were mixed — they qualified for Euro 2012 (reaching the quarter-finals), Euro 2016, and Euro 2020, where Patrik Schick's memorable long-range goal against Scotland and a round-of-16 win over the Netherlands captured widespread attention before a quarter-final exit against Denmark.

The team failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, finishing behind Belgium and Wales in their qualifying group and losing a playoff to Sweden. Under a renewed leadership, they qualified for Euro 2024 but exited in the group stage. In March 2026, Ladislav Krejčí was appointed captain and the side sealed a return to the World Cup for the first time in 20 years, beating Ireland and Denmark on penalties in the playoff.
